OM godkännande från FDA, det amerikanska läkemedelsverket angående den nya vaccineringsmetoden (microneedles, nanoplåster), så ämnar Kimberly Clark starta massproduktion av nanoplåster. Troligtvis behöver K C då köpa fler Sindremaskiner.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation en av garanterna till K C.

K C äger 10 patent inom den nya vaccineringstekniken.

Bill Gates idag filantrop på heltid har som ambition att bota polio i tredje världen.

Obducat är en spännande placering.

SAN FRANCISCO—Aggressive 2012 capital spending plans revealed this week by Intel Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. signal that the two largest chip firms see an opportunity to distance themselves from competitors and are ready to spend heavily to do it, according to a report by market research firm IC Insights Inc.

Based on the capital expenditure forecasts revealed this week, Intel and Samsung together are expected to account for about half of total semiconductor capital expenditures this year, IC Insights said.

ASML har avyttrat en del av det hela till INTEL, Intel ett litet amerikansk halvledarbolag.

Personligen hoppas jag att Obducat kan medverka till flera uppstartsföretag i Sverige.

Sverige behöver flera framtidsbolag.

Solcellsfabrik ska byggas i Lund.

ASML said it is willing to sell up to 25 percent of the company to Intel and other chip vendors that wish to participate in its EUV and 450-mm development programs. With Intel taking 15 percent of ASML, the company is still willing to sell another 10 percent of the company to participants. A spokesman for ASML said the company is currently in discussions with other customers and expects others to participate in the R&D and equity program.

Regardless of the outcome of ASML’s discussions with other customers, Intel's ownership stake in ASML will not exceed 15 percent of ASML's shares and will be subject to lock-up and voting restrictions, according to Intel's statement.

Intel said it would fund its R&D and equity investments in ASML from cash on hand at its offshore subsidiaries.

Intel Corp. (INTC), the world’s largest semiconductor maker, agreed to invest as much as $4.1 billion in Dutch chip-equipment maker ASML Holding NV (ASML) in an effort to shave two years from the time to adopt new production techniques.

The U.S. company said yesterday it will take an initial 10 percent stake in ASML for about $2.1 billion, and later another 5 percent for about $1 billion, pending shareholder approval. ASML, whose shares rose as much as 11 percent in Amsterdam, is also in talks with Samsung Electronics Co. (005930) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (2330) to sell as much as another 10 percent of its shares, Chief Executive Officer Eric Meurice said on a conference call today.

Intel har med inköpet i ASML visat att tekniken har bäring.

Normalt, om man ser historiskt på monopol, så skulle Intel köpt upp och lagt ner hela ASML för att behålla "halvledarmonopolet" i marknaden.

Nu vet ASML vad man äger och släpper därför till endast en liten procentuell andel av det hela.

Finns stora möjligheter för ASML, EV-Group och Obducat att ta över den nuvarande "halvledarmarknaden" med sina patent inom atomslöjd.

ASML has stated its intention to sell up to a 25 percent aggregate stake in the company (on a post-transaction basis) to Intel and other semiconductor manufacturers in this program. ASML is currently in discussions with other customers and has publicly indicated it expects others in the industry to participate in the R&D and equity program. Regardless of the outcome of ASML's discussions with other customers and upon completion of this two-phase program, Intel's ownership stake in ASML will not exceed 15 percent of ASML's post-transaction issued shares and will be subject to lock-up and voting restrictions.

Intel intends to fund its R&D and equity investments in ASML from cash on hand at its offshore subsidiaries.

"We are extremely encouraged that Intel has made these investments, which will benefit every semiconductor manufacturer in the industry," said Eric Meurice, president and chief executive officer of ASML. "We hope to be able to announce additional investments by our other customers in the coming weeks."

A critically important aspect of this transaction is the additional funding it provides for ASML's industry-leading EUV development program. When deployed in conjunction with 450-mm wafer production, the productivity and cost benefits of EUV will be substantial for Intel and other semiconductor manufacturers. Intel was involved in the formation of the first EUV consortium in 1997. With these additional R&D investments for EUV, ASML and Intel hope to help lead the semiconductor industry in the transition to this critical technology.

Det finns sammanlagt 25 halvledarbolag.

Idag produceras en väsentlig andel av världens hårddisksubstrat i Singapore av bolag som Hitachi Global Storage, Seagate, Hoya, Fujitsu samt Showa Denko. 2011 förväntas denna andel ha ökat till 50% av världsmarknaden. DSI har skaffat sig ett starkt anseende inom industrin och byggt ett starkt nätverk av partnerskap med de stora hårddisk- och datalagringsbolagen i Singapore så väl som globalt.

Avtalet mellan Obducat och DSI ger Obducat möjlighet att använda systemet hos DSI, både för referens- såväl som för demonstrationsändamål.

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology announces a webinar that will focus on recent nanoscale etch and atomic layer deposition (ALD) advances from research to manufacturing applications.

‘ALD and nanoscale etch processing techniques and results at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), USA’ presented by Deirdre Olynick, Staff Scientist at LBNL, CA, USA, will be followed by ‘Challenges and Opportunities in Fabrication of Bit Patterned Media with Areal Density Beyond 1 Tdpsi’ from speaker Kim Lee, Seagate, CA, USA.

Bit patterned media (BPM) recording is currently being considered for the next generation high capacity magnetic recording. However, BPM presents extreme fabrication challenges, principally in lithography and pattern transfer, because of the small feature size and the tight spacing tolerance requirements. In lithography, directed self-assembly (DSA) of block copolymers has been proposed as a viable lithography strategy for BPM patterning.

Says Kim Lee, “At Seagate, a DSA process with sphere-forming PS-b-PDMS pattern (hcp) for coherent dot patterning over large area at density of up to 3.2 Tdpsi (center to center spacing of 15nm) has been developed. Using quartz templates patterned by this process, BPM media with areal density of up to 1.5Tdpsi have been successfully fabricated by NIL (nano-imprint lithography) and IBE (ion-beam etching) on 2.5” disks. Although significant progress in BPM patterning by DSA has been achieved, including incorporation of fully functional servo patterns, many challenges lay ahead. These include areal density extensibility of spherical BCP, and dot size and position variation control in DSA and pattern transfer.”

Possible solutions such as patterning by DSA of lamellar BCP coupled with double patterning process, and the requirements for advanced RIE processes for nano-pattern transfer will be discussed.
