Q: More companies appear to be establishing themselves as NIL suppliers. How do you feel about this?
A: All considered, we take the following view of the increased competition: the fact that more companies are entering the nanoimprint lithography market proves that this technology is gaining increasing popularity. This is undoubtedly a positive trend. The fact that competition is increasing will force us to work even harder to keep the technical and commercial edge we still feel we have. Essentially, this is also positive. A possible negative consequence of the increased competition is that the total decision-making process among customers has gradually become slower. Frankly, we have not noticed any decrease in our market shares due to the new competition picture. Customers continue to value our high quality and impressive volume of installations, which none of our competitors comes close to.
Co-operation for best imprint polymers in the world
For the last four years Obducat has worked very closely with micro resist technology - one of the world leading suppliers of polymer.
The Berlin based company use equipment from Obducat to develop polymer on specifications that will answer to the needs of Obducat´s customers.
