M Greenberg avgår
från AIG där han haft makten i närmre 40 år och bolaget (världens största försäkringsbolag) som är under bevakning för ev "accounting issues" kunde sett bättre ut, aktien har rasat senaste veckorna och frågan är hur hans avgång påverkar.
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Hank Greenberg, already ousted as chief executive and under increasing pressure as American International Group Inc. faces widening investigations of possible financial irregularities, now is retiring as non-executive chairman of the board.
Greenberg, the industry's most powerful executive for decades, will formally retire by Thursday, the company said Monday night.

When called by MarketWatch Monday afternoon, Frank Hoenemeyer, one of AIG's independent directors, said he couldn't comment.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Securities and Exchange Commission has subpoenaed as many as 12 executives at American International Group as part of an ongoing investigation into the insurance giant's questionable accounting, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
