Long-term rates have been trending up since 2003. This has important implications for real estate, the stock market, and the US economy. For some perspective, today's chart illustrates the long-term trend for the 10-year T-bond yield. While the 10-year yield has been working its way up, the yield still remains within the confines (barely) of its long-term downtrend.
